Customer Process

Do you want to have something beautiful made for a special occasion, or do you want to present the day? Then have an original design made and executed by the Collection & Couture Atelier of Petra de Jonge .

We start with a personal 1 on 1 appointment where we discuss for which occasion you are looking for something special. Then - after careful color and style advice - you can fit and adjust items completely to your taste on the basis of my sample collection. A wonderfully beautiful and creative process in 7 steps. On average, we go through these steps between 2 and 6 weeks. It also depends a bit on the speed with which follow-up agreements can be made.

Be inspired by the various models in my webstore:

Step 1

During the first appointment, you will let me advise you on which clothing shapes and colors best suit your body and style.

Together we choose one or more designs from the extensive sample collection as a starting point. The sizes of the sample model are standard and will not fit properly in most cases. That is of course no problem at all, because in the end I make everything completely in your personal size.

Step 2

Fabric and accessory choice

Choose a fabric with me for your chosen design. In my studio are many beautiful fabrics that I have collected over the years. I have several

European fabric suppliers where I have fabric produced in limited numbers. Or I buy small, unique batches of fabric from well-known fashion brands.

Special options also include handmade embroidery or hand-painted fabrics. This way you can be sure that no second person is walking around with your creation. An hourly rate of 55€ per hour applies for the manufacture of this special fabric.

I try to inform you as well as possible in advance about the price of the item of clothing so that you are not faced with surprises.

This step also determines which finish my tailors will use and the choice of any matching accessories.

Step 5

First fitting

The garment is 'fitted' before it is completely finished. During this step we can then make some adjustments in terms of fit and length.

If you choose a completely new design, I will also make a test model first. This is a model in off white cotton, or another fabric with the same characteristics as the final model and fabric.

Step 6

The garment is made under my supervision by the tailor team that works in my studio. I choose the tailor who is most specialized in the type of garment you have chosen, and I go through in detail how everything should be done and finished.

There are several sewing machines in the workshop, each with a specific feature because each model requires its own technical approach.

Step 7

Final fitting /delivery of garment

The garment is ready. Normally it is already perfect. If small details still need to be adjusted, such as length or if it is still a bit too wide, that is still possible.

However, it is not the intention to change the design now, you can do that in step 5.

Have fun with your couture item!
